What’s Inside the X1 Pro? Full Unboxing & Kit Breakdown

Static targets create static shooters. If training never changes, shooters stop adapting. That’s why moving targets have become one of the most effective ways to make firearms training more realistic.

The Dynamic Range X1 Pro was designed to add movement to almost any range without requiring permanent infrastructure. More than 2,000 military units, police departments, and private ranges around the world are already using X1 systems to improve their training.

So what actually comes inside the box when you order an X1 Pro? Let’s break it down.

A System Built for Real Training

The X1 Pro is a portable moving target system that runs on a cable line across the range. Once the cable is installed, the target carriage clips on in seconds, and the system can start running drills immediately.

The kit is designed to give you everything you need to get started quickly. Each box is packed and tested before leaving the shop, so when it arrives, you can verify the contents and get your range ready to go.

The Core Hardware

The main components of the kit are built around durability and portability.

X1 Pro Target Carriage

This is the heart of the system. The carriage houses the motors and electronics that move the target across the cable line.

The unit ships with a lightweight aluminum front cover, but it can also be swapped out for an AR500 steel shield for higher-impact training environments.

Inside the carriage is the compartment for the lithium-ion battery that powers the system.

AR500 Front Plate

Also included in the box is the AR500 steel cover, designed to protect the system during live-fire training. This heavy-duty plate is built to handle the demands of professional range environments.

Wireless Remote

The wireless remote controls the movement of the target system and features an LCD display and a range of up to 450 meters. The remote arrives with its battery already installed and ready to go.

Power System

The X1 Pro runs on a lithium-ion battery.

Because lithium batteries must ship at a lower charge level for air transport, the battery typically arrives around 60% charged. A standard wall charger is included in the kit so you can fully charge it before your first training session.

The battery connects directly to the target carriage and provides hours of reliable operation.

Cable and Installation Components

To run the moving target system, the kit includes everything needed to establish the cable line.

Key components include:

  • 1/8-inch steel cable

  • Hand winch for tensioning the line

  • Cable clips and hardware

  • D-rings for quick attachment

  • Eyebolts for mounting

  • Pulley for redirecting the cable

  • Timber screws for mounting the winch

These components allow you to span a cable between posts, walls, or other sturdy attachment points on your range. Once the cable is installed, the target system clips onto the line in seconds.

Spare Parts and Tools

The kit also includes several items to make setup and maintenance easier:

  • Replacement pulleys

  • Aluminum spacers for the cover plates

  • An Allen key for assembly

  • A small wrench for cable clips

  • Antennas for the remote and target system

These extras ensure that if something needs adjustment down the road, you already have the parts on hand.

Ready to Train

At the bottom of the box you’ll also find a corrugated plastic target sheet, which gives you something to start shooting right away.

The goal of the X1 Pro kit is simple: provide everything needed to get a moving target system up and running without complicated installation or permanent range construction.

Once the cable is in place, the system is ready to run dynamic drills in seconds.
