From October 17–19, we were honored to return to Nebraska for the annual Chris D. Horton Legacy Sniper Competition, hosted by JT Grover and the Rev Tac team.
This match has become a meaningful stop on our calendar each year, not just for the challenge it brings to competitors, but for the story at the heart of the event.
Bringing Movement Into the Match
This year, Dynamic Range X1 systems were integrated into two match stages:
“Hit It from the Side” Stage - A dynamic obstacle course where competitors came toe to toe with Dynamic Range X1 moving hostage rescue targets.
“Squirters” Stage - A physical stage requiring shooters to run and climb rubble before engaging an X1 Pro (AR500) moving target at roughly 250 yards — a true test of timing, movement tracking, and precision.
Stages like these are exactly why we make moving targets; to bring realism, unpredictability, and decision-making back into training environments where static targets fall short.
