A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to visit Rend Lake College in southern Illinois for a group demonstration of the Dynamic Range X1 Pro.
This wasn’t just any range day—it was a gathering of around 11 police and sheriff’s departments, all committed to enhancing their training with realistic, movement-based scenarios.
Bringing Agencies Together
The event was coordinated by Major Jerod Campbell. His role covers 27 counties and connects him with over 100 police and sheriff’s departments, making him the perfect point of contact to host a collaborative training day like this.
Why Movement-Based Training Matters
Traditional firearms training often focuses on static targets. The X1 Pro changes that. By introducing realistic, programmable movement, it forces officers to adjust their timing, accuracy, and decision-making just as they would have to in real-world situations.
During the demo, participants got hands-on experience with:
Dynamic target movement patterns
Customisable speeds and directions
Scenarios that incorporate shoot/no-shoot decision-making
These features are designed to help departments train for complexity, not just repetition.
Partnerships That Make a Difference
We’re grateful to Rend Lake College for hosting us, and to Major Jerod Campbell for making the day possible. Events like this are more than just demonstrations—they’re opportunities to connect, share best practices, and ensure that officers are training for the challenges they’ll face in the field.
We look forward to continuing our work with departments across Illinois and beyond, helping them integrate realistic movement-based training into their programs.
