We’ve been making progress on our hostage target prototype, and it’s time for a quick update.
The first version is up and running, and we’ve had a chance to test it and get early feedback from a few shooters in the community.
Here’s what’s working well, what’s changing, and what you can expect next.
Remote Controlled Movement
The target is controlled using a simple joystick that works a lot like a Wii remote. It lets you move the hostage head side to side, giving you full control over timing and direction.
From Plastic to Steel
The final version of the head cover (where the target head ducks to hide) will be built from steel so it can take live fire and hold up to repeated use.
3D Head Design
One thing we kept hearing from testers is that they want the target head to have more depth. A lot of folks are asking for a fully three-dimensional piece so they can take angled shots on the threat behind it.
Easy Mounting and Multi-Use Plans
The mechanism we’re building will be able to mount on a T-post or directly to the back of a steel target. This makes it easy to add to most setups without extra gear.
We’re also planning to use the same base for another project we’re working on — a pop-out target that appears from behind corners. That means one setup, more ways to train.
What’s Next
We’re still testing and refining the prototype based on the feedback we’re getting. Once it’s ready for wider release, we’ll share more details and let folks know how to order.
