After months of testing, feedback, and fine-tuning with officers and trainers across the country, the Hostage Rescue Target System is officially ready and now available for purchase on our website.
This is the most requested training tool we’ve ever released.
What started as a simple idea — “Can you build a moving target that ducks and hides?” — grew into a full training system built for realism, repeatability, and pressure-tested decision making. The Hostage Rescue Target is now fully dialed in and ready for the instructors, teams, and departments who asked us to build it.
Built for the Moments That Matter
In a real hostage situation, there’s no room for error. The Hostage Rescue Target system is designed to put shooters in those high-pressure moments on the range, where tough decisions need to happen fast (when negotiations fail).
The system hides a moving “hostage head” behind an AR500 silhouette*, creating the same
challenge officers may face in the field. With four training modes: joystick control, preset movement drills, Pop-Out, Sweep, and a record/playback function, the Hostage Rescue Target helps shooters work timing, precision, and control under pressure.
It sets up in under 15 minutes, runs on standard Li-ion and 9V batteries, and is built from steel that’s been drop-tested and weather-tested. Whether you're running it indoors, outdoors, or in less-than-ideal conditions, the Hostage Rescue Target holds its own.
Key Features Include:
Four operation modes: joystick, moving target drills, Pop-Out, Sweep, and record/playback

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does shipping take?
Once the package leaves our shop, shipping typically takes 7–9 business days.
What happens if the moving arms (linkages) get shot?
They’re positioned behind your AR500 steel silhouette, so with proper installation, they’re unlikely to get hit. If they ever do wear out or take damage, replacement linkages are available in our shop.
Do you accept purchase orders from police departments?
Yes. Departments can email us at info@dynamicrangex1.com to request an invoice/PO.
