Programs spend thousands on thermal optics that can pick a coyote out of a treeline at 400 yards, then point them at cold steel and see nothing. We put the target downrange and filmed it through an Athlon Cronus ATS Pro from 100 out to 1,100 yards, at four power settings. No edits. This is exactly what the optic saw, with the yard line and power setting labeled on every frame.
Real through-scope captures. Higher power reads farther. At 90 watts the target still reads at 1,100 yards. N/A cells are settings we have not filmed yet.

The heating element sits pressed against the back of the AR500 plate. The control box, the wiring, and the battery all hide behind the steel with it. Rounds hit rated steel, not electronics. If an element finally wears out, a spare is in the box and swapping one is a hand-tool job.
